Organisation Details:
People Dancing is 'the foundation for community dance.' We are the UK development organisation and membership body for those involved in creating opportunities for people to experience and participate in dance. Our membership reaches more than 4,500 dance professionals worldwide.
We believe dance can change lives and transform communities. Our vision is of a world where dance is a part of everyone’s life and our mission is to make dance important to all individuals, communities and society by promoting excellent dance practice. People Dancing works with and on behalf of artists, organisations and teachers involved in leading, delivering or supporting community and participatory dance.
People Dancing's leadership of the community dance network is a driving force for the sector, providing a platform for exchange, critical debate and peer learning. This exposes our members and partners to diverse dance practices and new contacts. By helping to expand professional horizons, profile and professional identity, People Dancing is an invaluable resource for anyone working in community dance. We also create opportunities for anyone to take part in dance activities.

Bio: Lucia is a German-Chilean dance artist currently spending a year in Santiago de Chile, but continuing her work for Kaleidoscopic Arts remotely. She is a freelance dancer and choreographer of Lucidez Dance. She dances contemporary, jazz, show and samba. As a creator and choreographer she is interested in how historic developments affect our personalities and our behaviour and in the formation, manifestation and communication of identity, in particular female identity and cultural and national identity. Her work has been presented at Ensemble Perpetuo presents Cityscapes, Dance Film Festival UK, MOVEment for Change, Breeze Creatives Film Night, CrisisArt Festival, Fragments of Cities (both Italy), Pixels of Identity (Argentina) and Blue Cloud Scratch (London).

Organisation Details:
Kaleidoscopic Arts was founded by dance artists and independent choreographers Konstantina Skalionta and Lucia Schweigert in 2014.
Together they oversee all aspects of running Kaleidoscopic Arts. In 2015 Cecilia Berghäll joined them as general assistant.

It is our mission to support emerging female choreographers in making and promoting their work and making it accessible to a diverse audience, as well as advancing their careers. We want to enable dance and non-dance audiences to experience the diversity and excellence of work by female choreographers. We respond in this way to the issue that the current UK contemporary dance scene is dominated, not in quality and quantity, but in publicity and popularity, by male choreographers.

We showcase exciting, experimental, moving, beautiful, thought-provoking and stimulating contemporary dance works by emerging female choreographers.

Each platform takes place in an unconventional space and opens the floor for a post-performance Q&A.

We also organise professional development meetings and work in progress sharings for emerging female choreographers.
