IDMN is offering a Trainee Producer role to someone interested in developing a career as an independent dance producer.
The format of the role will be determined by the needs and interests of the selected individual, but will include training, mentoring, shadowing and coaching, and will include a small salary (subject to funding). The Trainee Producer will be expected to work with a number of IDMN's independent producer members in order to gain a broad spectrum of experience and knowledge, of different clients, situations, skills and problem-solving.
The role is expected to fit around the selected person's workload and commitments, and we would expect her or him to work at her/his own pace.
We would like to hear from people who are new to producing or who are interested in becoming an independent producer, specialising in dance; this role is not open to people seeking to build a career as an independent producer concentrating on other artforms.
We would prefer to hear from people with prior experience of working within the dance industry and/or have completed their training in dance.
Also, because of the nature of the role, we would expect anyone selected to be available during normal working hours; if you are currently working full-time, this will have to be arranged with your employer.
The role will last from late February until mid-July, and will pay £2025 (subject to funding).
As this role will involve working with and shadowing several of our members who are based around the UK (our locations can be viewed here: https://www.idmn.co.uk/about/where-we-are.html), this role is not location-specific.
