Vicki Igbokwe

Vicki Igbokwe is Creative Director of Uchenna Dance an organisation that delivers high quality and dynamic experiences in dance for all – be this as a participant, spectator or project partner. She worked for East London Dance as a dance manager for five years leaving in April 2009 to set up Uchenna Dance and develop her career as an Independent choreographer and Dance Manager.

She holds a BA (HONS) Degree in Dance Studies from Middlesex University and a MA in Cultural Leadership from City University.
From a one-off consultation meeting to a more strategic and long-term support scheme, Vicki can work with a variety of clients.

Areas of support include the development of project concepts and ideas, project coordination, day-to-day management, on the day events management, marketing, recruitment, budget creation/management and evaluation. Vicki represents clients from African, Contemporary and Hip-Hop dance backgrounds. They include a collection of artists, undertaking practice based research on the forming of hybrid styles that encompass the genres above.

Past clients, projects and events include East London Dance, Nike, Association of Dance of the African Diaspora (ADAD), Impact Dance, Funk Physics, Boy Blue, Leila McMillan, Rosalind Lynch, Sean Graham Dance Theatre, Stylefest and Blueprint (including bursary scheme).

She currently works with Rich Mix, Alesandra Seutin/Vocab Dance Company, Juste Debout Steez UK, Cultural Explosion, Imperial House Of Waacking, ADiaspora Collective, Selma Nicholls (Creative Engagement/Studio 1), Clara Bajado (InDaHouse UK), Delene Gordon and Akosua Boayke.
