Amanda Drago trained in dance at The Laban Centre, London and Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Leeds earning a BA (Hons) Performing Arts (Dance). Her choreography for Northern Stage included Romeo and Juliet, Irvine Welsh’s You’ll have had your hole, Tony Harrison’s V and acted Rehearsal Director for main stage shows Clockwork Orange and Animal Farm.
As Dance Artist in Residence for Tees Dance Initiative she performed works by choreographers Charlotte Vincent, Colin Poole, Ben Wright and Geoff Hopson. From 2004 -2010, she led Falling Cat a company creating interactive installation for children with learning difficulties in hospital and school settings.
In 2010 she joined Arts Council as Relationship Manager Dance then latterly Combined Arts. Amanda is now a freelance Arts Manager / Producer living in the north east and working across the north. She currently is the Children and Young People’s Dance Network Coordinator for the North and Executive Producer for Freedom City 2017 festival as well as running the a vintage pop up photo studio, the Moon Booth with her husband Kit Haigh.
