Joe is a Freelance Arts Manager based in London.   He originally trained
as a dancer at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, gaining a first class
BA Honours Degree in Performing Arts (Dance), going onto study at London Contemporary Dance School. As well as performing and teaching, Joe has worked as a production/stage manager for both dance and theatre.  In 2007, he completed a Masters Degree in Arts Management, specialising in dance education and training, at City University, London.

Joe works closely with Claire Morton and together they trade as Morton Bates Arts Services.  Joe is currently working with a range of clients including: New Art Club (marketing and communications); mapdance (tour booking and coordination); move-me.com (project management); Bedlam Dance Company (tour management); Laïla Diallo (marketing and PR); Zoi Dimtriou (PR) and Jeanefer Jean-Charles.  Other projects have included
work with Wired Aerial Theatre, EDge - The Postgraduate Performance Company of London Contemporary Dance School, Bottlefed Ensemble,
Darkin Ensemble, The Keats-Shelley Association, and Richard Alston
Dance Company.  He currently sits on the Executive Committee for the
Independent Dance Managers’ Network.
