Eckhard Thiemann has more than 15 years experience of working in
dance, specialising in international collaborations, programming and artists promotion. He is working with Laila Diallo on her international promotion
and is artistic associate for Anvil Arts in Basingstoke. Eckhard also currently works for the 2009 Attakkalari India Biennial curating a programme of
new dance from Africa for the international dance festival in Bangalore in February 09. For Woking Dance Festival he programmes and coordinates
the Dance Dialogues series of residencies and the associate artist scheme.
Between Jan – April 2008 Eckhard worked on organisational
development projects with the Cape Craft and Design Institute in Cape Town and
the Centre of Contemporary Art in Lagos, Nigeria, during a
3-months
Placement for Cultural Entrepreneurs as part of the
Cultural
Leadership Programme.
From 2002 – 2007 Eckhard was director of Woking Dance Festival,
where he presented and commissioned major UK premieres from
national and international artists.
